THE TOPGRADE TEAM
Safety, Promotional and Food Packaging, Bag-in-Box… these are the watchwords that sum up the 17 years during which we at TOPgrade have learned, worked and grown.
The year 2001 saw the birth of a company specialising in the sale of products aimed at pedestrian and road-user safety and protection. That company was TOPgrade. Following its successful launch in the Portuguese and international markets, TOPgrade made a name for itself in particular with events such as Euro 2004 and the 2007 Treaty of Lisbon.
Determined to continually seek out more attractive projects, the company turned to packaging in 2006. Here was an extremely complex and demanding business area, of incalculable scope. Promotional packaging proved to be yet another successful venture for the company, this time in terms of environmental awareness, since it was the first Portuguese company to promote the sale of plastic bags made using d2w technology. This additive, when included in the extrusion process, results in the plastic degrading completely and safely. TOPgrade also began developing and selling innovative food packaging solutions for the food industry, particularly for meats, fish, dairy products, fruit and vegetables, as well as an extensive range of fresh and pre-cooked products.
Intrinsically related to the business area described above, in 2009 TOPgrade began selling a new and innovative type of packaging that would later become the company’s core business: Bag-in-Box.
After six years as a Bag-in-Box vendor company, TOPgrade took the biggest step in its history in 2015, when it moved from selling the product to manufacturing it. And so the TOPbib® brand was born.
